> Avoid a bad solicitor |
We currently have four main data sources (click here). However, the "MISC Section" (very small) are names WE have added, usually because we have corresponded with someone reliable who has outlined problems (often quite serious problems) with the individual named.
If you have someone you think SHOULD be listed here then please drop us a line with details and we will consider adding them. Remember, (with a very few exceptions) we are NOT absolutely saying the individual named is guilty of ANYTHING... just... there IS evidence... so... BE CAREFUL!
As a rough guide, the more times a solicitor is listed the worse you may (reasonably) expect them to be. Remember, there is seldom smoke without fire and if something walks and quacks like a duck then it may, indeed, BE a duck. For every name listed there is REAL evidence of problems. Do YOU really need to take the risk? Good Luck!
Our list is already too big and it is growing. It is split into an A-Z of pages BY SOLICITOR SURNAME ...

So... to find "Ben Whelan" (for example) - click on "W" (above) and then scroll down until you find him. Where possible we include links to the authority which justifies inclusion in our list. Click these for more information. For the most part these links are generated using automated scripts. Please help us to improve by reporting any broken links.
Our very own survey results http://www.lcs-test.co.uk/SurveyF.htm
The SRA web site (here) published a few decisions. remember, though, in 85% to 90% of complaints the SRA sides with the solicitors and it is only a tiny minority that actually gets published. (85% to 90% justification)
The SDT (part of the High Court) - insists the SRA publishes it's decisions. Only about 2% of cases actually get referred to the SDT, though (2% justification). Opinion: - the Law Society the SRA and the OLSO all lie to protect solicitors - so, to get referred to the SDT you must either be truly awful, stupid or have upset the buggers in some way. End Opinion:

MISC - Here because folks say so - not many but BEWARE!
We try to include links where possible:
|
SRA = Solicitors Regulation Authority
|
SDT = Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal
|
SUR = LCS-Test Survey | |
|
SFH = Solicitors From Hell (22/03/2010 - not yet live - will add nearly around 800 names)
|
MSC = Misc - this page |
We may NOT be entirely up-to-date - so ALWAYS check that actual sites. The truly pedantic (and this is a GOOD trait, by the way :-)) would actually check the SDT site here for pending cases too.
Use Search on SFH, and SDT Listings and SRA Listings pages - NB: the SRA "search" is bollocks - you would miss everyone unless you know the EXACT string to search. Deliberate?
Don't forget www.google.co.uk and www.yahoo.com and http://www.bing.com/ and all the rest.

If you are a solicitor listed here, and you think you shouldn't be... feel free to contact us via the FAQ / Contact page http://www.lcs-test.co.uk/FAQ.htm - don't forget - these pages are here solely because the Law Society protected FDC Law's Ben Whelan and Patricia Wayman. FACT: Both signed false declarations on bills of costs claiming £1,000's FDC Law was NOT entitled to. I think this is normally referred to as criminal fraud.
