Q. Where have all the "old" web sites gone (CASIA, UnjustIS) / What/Where is the Wayback Machine? (I made up this question (see Q3 (below) for reason)).
A. In looking for the MOU (below) I tried my own link to CASIA - it's gone - I will ask, but it appears AOL pulled the plug around October last year (http://www.casiaweb.com/) ... and it looks like they have upset quite a few folks too. I tried the Wayback Machine here http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.casiaweb.com - no luck.
UnjustIS closed down in August (see here) - thanks to Paul's notice I was able to "un-cache" the two articles below. Wayback Machine for UJ here http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://unjustis.co.uk
The Wayback Machine (here) takes - and more importantly took - "snapshots" of the www. As you might expect, it's not perfect, (the www is a BIG place) but sometimes very useful - if you know the original web address for the main site, that is - enjoy!

Q. Where can I find the agreement between the police and the Law Society?
A. Ok, not Frequently asked, but a good question. I think you mean the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) - you would have found it on Google with the right key words. There is a copy in MS Word! format here:-
http://www.acpo.police.uk/asp/policies/Data/law_society.doc (my cache here)
I used to link to a copy on UnjustIS and I know CASIA used to post a copy too - see Q4 (above). You may now find the UnjustIS copy here. Beware! I do NOT know if these have been superceded!!!!

Q. Many of the conduct rules changed on 1st July 2007 but my problems are older. Where can I find the rules my solicitor SHOULD have complied with before that date?
A. http://www.sra.org.uk/solicitors/code-of-conduct/archived-guide.page or you can browse or search the old "Guide On Line" here http://www.lawsociety.org.uk/professional/conduct/guideonline.law - remember new rules applied from 1st July 2007

Q. Where can I find the "Lay Observer" pamphlets referred to on the history page? (here)
A. Sorry, these had go back. The only place I know is the University of Stafford Library - though you could try any other law library or (maybe?) HMSO - I think these pre-dated ISBN numbers.
