A few words about protest sites...

A couple of funnies ... 23/02/2008 ... :-)

So, what does a pensioners protest have to do with "Complaints About Solicitors"?

There may be a tendency amongst some casual surfers to dismiss some of the protest sites with "oh, some disgruntled nutter..." or words to that effect  - before they hit the BACK button.  There may also be a misconception that "BLOGing" is mainly the domain of the young.

I smiled this week on my way to work at Radio 4's "Royal Blog" written by Sue Townsend to mark the Queen's visit to Google.  The truth is that some of the better (and better established) sites, which have a similar theme to this one, were started and run by our more senior members of society.  The use of the colloquial can hide a few surprises :-) for e.g.

On this site I talk about the past 30 years and the survey is only open for the last TEN.  I am a couple of years shy of 50 and my problems with injustice by solicitors are scarcely five years old - to me 30 years seems a respectable amount of time.  I have had emails from folks with far WORSE but related problems, problems that date back MUCH further.  If I have excluded you from the survey, please accept my apologies - I would love to hear from you.

All governments know that they cannot ignore "the twilight vote" (worse still? "the grey vote") ... and many of the most active bringers-of-change are retired folks, who ultimately make things better for ALL of us... they certainly deserve all the support they can get - in our OWN interests.  Another link may just help - it can't possibly hurt!

Ok, taking a whole days' holiday and the cost (not to mention the hassle) of braving public transport might seem a bit extreme for someone who will probably have to work for another 20 years... Ah, I can find a purely selfish reason for attending ... I may get the chance to meet some very interesting people - folks who embrace changes in technology and view them as another tool to help bring about necessary changes... maybe even some awesomely wise BLOGgers :-)

I have borrowed Google's "Royal-doodle" below from here... Radio 4 was amusing... but...
